Excellent phone system! Call quality is 4/5. It isn't perfect, but still very good. Of course, the closer to the base, the better the audio will be. Really, no complaints here, as the quality is more than sufficient. Each phone acts as a walkie-talkie (you can select a specific zone or all zones to initiate radio contact) Good for if you want to talk to someone in a the living room from bedroom, or if you're out in the backyard cooking. I love the talking caller id feature. The phones are lightweight and I find the buttons are big and clearly marked. The system uses energy saving technology.I had a cheap cordless phone that worked, but friends would sometimes complain about the sound quality. I went hunting for a new phone with my number one priority being the sound quality. I chose this phone because of the advertising of HD Audio. What is HD Audio? My take is that VTech is using HD to mean superior sound, because high definition does mean high quality resolution for video and it should mean robust sound for audio if it's going to be used. After using the phone a few times, I find the sound is tinny, and at high volume (levels close to max) it distorts both when using the speakerphone or normal phone. I think I'll get used to this, but it's a little disconcerting at first. The other thing is there is no jack for a headset. This is mitigated by the speaker feature, but it would have been nice to have that option. Overall, I love this phone. It's the best cordless phone I've ever bought. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing, and they didn't let me down! |
